Il Borro Tuscan Bistro London to Open in Mayfair on 12 November 2021

The Ferragamo’s prestigious Il Borro dining concept makes its UK restaurant debut


On 12th November, Il Borro Tuscan Bistro London will open at 15 Berkeley Street in Mayfair, following successful openings in both Florence and Dubai. The concept and culinary programme originates from the renowned Il Borro, the Tuscan Estate, owned by Ferruccio Ferragamo, son of Italian fashion legend Salvatore Ferragamo, known also for its focus on organic farming and sustainable approach. The menu will reflect the estate’s ‘farm to table’ philosophy, using fresh and seasonal ingredients to showcase the best traditional Italian dishes.


Ferruccio Ferragamo comments “We are looking forward to bringing our vision to one of the culinary capitals of the world, celebrating authentic Italian flavours, both through cooking and through the extensive selection of wines from our vineyard.”


The menu at Il Borro Tuscan Bistro London has been created by Executive Chef Andrea Campani, who will travel from Tuscany to oversee the launch, and Head Chef Fulvio Opalio. They have worked hard to retain Il Borro’s sustainable values and will be using organic ingredients produced from Il Borro Estate throughout the menu. This will include the organic honey, seasonal vegetables, organic extra-virgin olive oil, organic flour and pasta.


Highlights from the menu include:



Pappa al pomodoro: Tuscan bread topped with organic plum tomato with garlic and herbs



Pici all’aglione: handmade Tuscan spaghetti topped with organic tomato sauce and basil;

Tagliatelle al tartufo: homemade tagliatelle, Umbrian black truffle, parmesan


Meat, poultry and fish:

Bistecca alla fiorentina: grain fed t-bone steak with roasted rosemary baby potatoes



Torta al formaggio fresco: Cheesecake with blueberry compote


The interiors of Il Borro Tuscan Bistro London encapsulate Il Borro’s overarching philosophy of preserving a sense of place and tradition. The London debut will take cues from its Tuscan heritage through the use of rustic wood panelling, Italian stone, and plentiful marble accents. Upon entering Il Borro Tuscan Bistro London, guests will be greeted by a buzzing cocktail bar – a destination in itself –  complete with a cosy fireplace and lounge seating. Here, guests will be able to enjoy a pre-dinner cocktail, or simply a glass of wine from the extensive menu.


Spanning two floors, the 220-cover restaurant includes two bustling open kitchens: the first serving the ground floor dining room, which will stay open for light bites until 2am, and the second, upstairs which features the restaurant’s impressive wood-fired pizza oven and a more formal dining setting. The first floor will be home to a discreet private dining room overlooking Berkeley Street. The space includes bespoke sliding doors meaning guests can still enjoy their privacy while enjoying the atmosphere of the rest of the space. A smaller annex is also available to hire for an even more intimate dinner setting, or as a drinks reception area for guests before sitting down to eat.


Il Borro Toscana also produces a variety of wines using a centuries-old method, under the direction of Salvatore Ferragamo Jr, and has been certified organic since 2015. Il Borro Tuscan Bistro London will offer a wide selection of wines to suit all tastes, including the Bolle di Borro – an exuberant hand-harvested sparkling rosé from 100% Sangiovese grapes, and the signature Alessandro dal Borro – a true representation of Il Borro’s philosophies and terroir. Guests will have the chance to enjoy several different wines by the bottle or the glass.


International bartender Giancarlo Mancino has created the cocktail list for Il Borro Tuscan Bistro London, producing a selection of both classic and bespoke cocktails, some of which incorporate Il Borro’s organic wines. Each serve includes a nod to the Il Borro estate. From bespoke glassware shaped as the amphoras in which the wine is preserved, to using the organic wines in the cocktails themselves, the estate’s identity is woven throughout the extensive menu.

Over a thousand years ago, historical figure Alessandro dal Borro, known as the “father” of Il Borro, transformed the beautiful 1,100-hectare space into the Ferruccio Ferragamo-owned estate of Il Borro Relais & Chateaux as it is known today.
